The U19 Team Canada East Selection Camp is taking place from May 17th - 21st at the MasterCard Centre in Etobicoke. This camp will host 60 elite athletes from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario. To ensure the success of this camp we are in need of volunteers. We are are looking for volunteers to help with Shot Clock, Score/Timekeeping, Bench Support, Fitness Testing and the safe pick up of our athletes at airports and/or train stations.

If you are able to give a few hours of your time that weekend please send your information and availability to our Team Manager Mary Dupuis at dupuis2012@gmail.com

Come Try Ringette on April 1st, 2012 @ 11:30 AM Magna Centre at 800 Mulock Drive, Newmarket Pre-Register at www.cometryringette.ca The Newmarket Ringette Association invites you to register for our FREE Come Try Ringette event being held Sunday, April 1st at 11:30 am at the Magna Centre. Girls ages 4 and older will have an opportunity to participate in an on ice demonstration with coaches and current players. Afterwards, girls will enjoy refreshments and a fun craft while a brief parent information session is held. Skaters require a helmet, mittens/gloves and skates. Congratulations to our own Newmarket U14A girls for winning silver this past weekend at the Ontario Provincial Championships in West Ottawa. The team played 6 hard fought games in the round robin (2 – 1, 3 – 1, 3 – 2, 0 – 1, 3 – 2, 5 – 4) winning 5 of the 6 and finishing in first place. After a great 4 – 3 win in the semi’s against Elora Fergus, the girls lost only 2 – 1 in the gold medal game against Ajax. It was a great end to a great season.
