(THE STALLIONS) WIN GOLD

IN NIAGARA FALLS!!!

Congratulations to the Newmarket U12 C1 team for winning GOLD in the Petite Division 4 of the Niagara Falls Ringette Tournament. The girls put in a fantastic effort in all 4 games, with amazing goaltending from Kristin Trentadue (Game 1), and Sarah Franken, (Games 2, 3 and 4). Everyone had a great time off the ice too being tourists at the Falls, in the pool, sauna and hot tub! This tournament also saw the birth of the bench staff wigs which were the envy of all the other teams!!! Congratulations girls, we are very proud of you!!! We can’t wait to see what you accomplish at the Regionals.

EVALUATIONS

NRA will have 25+ players at Petite & Tween age groups and as such NRA is following the ORA rule that an association has to show they tried to form "A" level teams when they have 25+ players at a given age group. It is NRA's intent to ice a Petite & Tween Provincial team/s for the 2010/2011 playing season based on this evaluation process. The evaluation process must be completed before the final decision is made.

Newmarket Ringette has a request into the Ontario Ringette Association about the possibility to field two U14 A teams. We anticipate a decision will be forth coming from ORA prior to U14 A evaluations. Cost TBD.

2010 Ringette Newmarket Tournament

The Newmarket Ringette Board would like to thank each and every person who helped in anyway leading up too and during our 3rd "Ignite The Ice" tournament this past weekend. Newmarket hosted 52 teams from across Ontario over three days and by all accounts the tournament was a huge success. We have received many positive comments from various teams about our tournament which is fantastic.

Special thanks to the Tournament Chair - Carolyn Haskins and the entire Tournament Organizing committee. The support from our Association members was higher than ever and you all played a role in ensuring our Tournament was as success. Thank You for Volunteering!

The Newmarket teams represented themselves very well, we came away with five medals:

Open Rec: Silver Medal

Tween A - Silver Medal

Petite B Major - Silver Medal

Petite B Minor (Thompson) - Silver Medal

Novice B Minor - Gold Medal

Great results and once again thank you for all your support.
